'Black Sails' season 4 air date, spoilers news: Final season's behind the scenes video released online

The highly popular swashbuckler adventure television series, "Black Sails," is set to present its spectacular final season as was shown in a recently released teaser trailer for the series' fourth season. The brand new trailer showcased the different challenges that faced the actors and production team of the hit show, while also revealing some interesting action sequences that will surely excite its avid viewers.

The teaser trailer was also in itself a behind the scenes video that showed some of the intricate filming process that had to be undertaken in order to bring to life the action in the high seas. The video was originally posted on the show's official Facebook page. Along with the video, it was also revealed that the upcoming first episode of the show's fourth and final season will be kicking off with an immediate action sequence that will involve the character, Jack Rackham, who is played by actor Toby Schmitz.

The video also revealed that the crew utilized different underwater cinematography techniques in order to massively expand the underwater stunts in the upcoming season's opening scene. Fans would also notice a particularly hair-raising scene involving Long John Silver, played by Luke Arnold, who is trapped underwater after the side of the ship he was climbing on to was struck by a cannon ball. Silver's metallic peg leg was then caught in a rope which basically dragged him down in the water.

The scene itself was apparently filmed inside a huge tank, where divers and crew members were ready to give the actor air every time he signalled for it. The actor himself even joked that the filming of the particular scene had been a "prolonged, excruciating journey," but that it was worth it as the scene itself was apparently going to be fantastic.

"Black Sails" season 4 is scheduled to come back with brand new episodes on Jan. 29, 2017 on Starz.
