The finale of the previous season of "The Big Bang Theory" left fans with so many questions. For starters, there's no certainty if Sheldon and Amy will be back in each other's arms, or if they are bound to move on.

There was also a ring Sheldon seems to have been hiding for quite a while, and fans thought it was an engagement ring he prepared for the day he will finally pop the question to Amy.

However, clues and details about season 9 prove that viewers should not jump to conclusions, as the ring can mean anything. Whatever that is, the show won't take long to reveal what that ring really is for.

"The fate of the ring Sheldon held at the end of the episode — and the fate of other rings — will be revealed," the series producers told Entertainment Weekly

That said, fans are getting answers soon, not only about Sheldon and Amy but also regarding Leonard and Penny.

When fans last saw the latter couple, they were headed to Las Vegas to get married. They were full of love and excitement but Leonard couldn't marry Penny without completely being honest with his future wife, so he revealed he kissed another girl.

It remains to be seen whether or not there's a wedding in the upcoming season and if there is one, there is also the question of whose wedding it will actually be – with the two couples facing their own struggles.

Nevertheless, fans ought to know that Laurie Metcalf will be back as Sheldon's mother in the premiere while Keith Carradine, who played the role of Penny's father, will appear in the third episode.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 premieres on Sept. 21.
