'Better Call Saul' season 3 spoilers: Mike Ehrmantraut to also undergo a transformation in the show's third season?

Will Jimmy McGill meet Walter White long before he became known as Saul Goodman in 'Better Call Saul' season 3? AMC

Jimmy McGill's (Bob Odenkirk) not the only character who will undergo a transformation in season 3 of AMC's "Better Call Saul"

According to a report by Sportsrageous, it is expected that Jimmy will finally embrace his new persona as Saul Goodman — a slick lawyer to the underworld —when he becomes linked to big time drug dealer Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito). His friend and trusted associate Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) is also expected to make a transformation when he gets closer to Fring and his operation.

"I've read Episodes 1 and 2 and I can tell you that for all the laying of the groundwork and character studies that we've been doing for the last two years, things are going to ratchet up," actor Patrick Fabian (who plays the character Howard Hamlin) teased when he was interviewed by TVLine.

While rumors are rife that Fring could be returning to the show given the hints given by producers that the popular character from the "Breaking Bad" franchise could return in the spinoff, it will not be an easy appearance.

"Having said that, I would be very sad if people were expecting to see that character right away on season 3. Right now, this is a guy — I'm talking about Gus Fring — who often works very indirectly. This is not somebody who is not easy to access," said Executive Producer Peter Gould.

Bryan Cranston (who portays Walter White) has earlier been rumored to drop in for a guest appearance. The actor will also allegedly be directing an episode.

Most recently, actress Betsy Brandt (who plays Marie Shrader) said that she and her on-screen husband Hank (Dean Norris) are open to appearing in the show.

"I don't think that's out of the question. You know, it's definitely been discussed and I feel like that's something that we could see. I'll do anything those guys want," the actress told Huffington Post.
