The spring patch update for the first-person shooter "Battlefield 4" title will roll out on Tuesday, May 26. The update will make the multiplayer modes of the game go offline for about one hour.

According to the game's developer DICE, the update will be across all platforms, starting with the PC version, which will go out at 1 a.m. PDT. The first platform will then be immediately followed by the updates on the Xbox One and Xbox 360, of which the multiplayer modes of the game will go offline starting at 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. PDT, respectively. Lastly, the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 multiplayer versions will go offline starting at 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. PDT to make way for the rollout.

The new update from DICE will bring new features and improvements to the game. It will bring back the original Gun Master Mode from the third instalment of "Battlefield," and will also add new weapons and other gameplay enhancements.

The Gun Master mode is much like a team deathmatch gameplay, albeit with a different set of rules. Instead of players freely selecting weapons, the mode will issue a set of weapons based on the combat settings. Players will only have the chance to update their armaments or select a new weapon after every two consecutive kills. The first player to get a kill using the final weapon in the selection wins the entire match.

Five new weapons will also be made available for "Battlefield 4" players, although DICE has decided not to name them but instead come out with general descriptions.

First on the list is a new assault rifle, which will be making a comeback based on fans' clamor. There will also be a new Carbine in a unique bullpup configuration and with built-in vertical grip; a new silenced PDW; a new long-ranged sniper sidearm with magnum ammunition; and a magazine-fed LMG with balanced configuration, able to switch between belt-fed ammo and magazine-style LMG.
