'Battlefield 1' release date, beta news: Public beta should roll out this summer

 Electronic Arts/Battlefield

The upcoming beta for "Battlefield 1" has been confirmed to occur sometime in summer this year. As such, fans are excited to play before the game is officially released on Oct. 21.

However, according to Gotta Be Mobile, the specific window to look forward to should be before the end of September, but as for the exact date of the beta's release, its not clear yet. But then again, EA might possibly use Gamescom in August to give more details pertaining to the "Battlefield 1" beta, so players are advised to stay tuned.

EA has been referring the "Battlefield 1" beta as the "public beta" and "open beta" so it's not clear whether or not there's a closed beta before these. What this means is that there will be a beta for everyone, so all players will be able to try out this game before its release. A lot of fans are pleased by this, especially those who are considering to buy it since they'll have a solid idea of what they're getting even before they buy it. As for EA DICE, they'll be able to stress-test the game and find some issues before it will be publicly released.

With this, a lot of fans speculate on what to expect of this "Battlefield 1" beta. They already expect it to be a limited game version packed with just a bit of levels and game modes. Also, the beta is expected to last only for a week, so players already know that whatever progress they made in this beta won't be carried over to the game's full version.

In any case, the beta website for "Battlefield 1" has been launched, but there's not much information to be gleaned from it. Players are more expected to look at the game's official Twitter account for updates instead, as well as other social media channels.
