'Arrow' season 4: Team Arrow welcomes new addition to lineup

Felicity's (Emily Bett Rickards) absence will be greatly missed by her team, especially once they continue with their mission to protect Star City from a new wave of bad guys in "Arrow" season 4B.

During the midseason finale, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) sent the Ghosts to teach Oliver (Stephen Amell) a lesson he would never forget. The green vigilante and his new fiancée were riding a limousine when the villain's goons opened fired. Although Oliver escaped unscathed, Felicity was not so lucky. At the end of the episode, viewers saw her bloody and unconscious. There is no reason to panic, though, as Felicity appears to have survived the harrowing experience. Her condition, however, will force her to take a long break and this will leave her position on Team Arrow vacant.

The International Business Times posits several names who can substitute for Felicity while she is recuperating. As she is in-charge of the tech related aspect for the operation, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) from Team Flash will fit the bill. Zoom's arrival at Central City, however, will mean that he will be needed to provide back up for Barry (Grant Gustin). Another possible replacement is Ray (Brandon Routh), but as he is off reflecting about life and his future, it will be difficult to get a hold of him.

That leaves Curtis (Echo Kellum), the employee from Palmer Technologies. It has been previously speculated that he will join Team Arrow as Mr. Terrific. Curtis already proved that he could be a valuable member of the squad when he helped rescue Ray from Darhk. The fact that he is also very athletic and a genius will make him a great substitute for Felicity. Oliver can even offer him a permanent position with Team Arrow after Felicity returns.

Meanwhile, fans are getting excited after David Ramsey, who plays John Diggle, posted a photo of himself on Instagram, as he was standing outside the writers' room of "The Flash." The caption suggests that there will be another crossover happening between the two CW shows.

"Made a visit to #theflash writers room. Can only mean one thing. #arrow&theflash," the post read.

"Arrow" will return on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
