Apple fans have long waited for the company's Sept. 9 event, as there were rumors that not only would the Cupertino-based company unveil upgrades to their iPhone flagships but would also introduce an additional product in their iPad lineup.
One of the most noted unveilings during the event was that of the long-rumored iPad Pro. When the original iPad was launched, it was designed more for entertainment than serious work. However, with the emergence of 2-in-1 hybrid devices such as Microsoft's vaunted Surface Pro lineup, Apple decided to come up with its own professional-level tablet.
The iPad Pro was announced with a 12.9-inch screen and a 2738 x 2048 pixel resolution. One of the noted features of the iPad Pro is its square-type screen option in which the view is the same in either landscape or portrait modes. This will take advantage of the upcoming iOS 9's split-screen multi-tasking function. The iPad Pro also comes with a new 64-bit A9X chipset and an accessory called the Apple Pencil.
Apple's wearable, the Apple Watch, also made an appearance with one of the keynote speeches talking about what's coming for the watchOS 2. In addition, it was also revealed that the updated Apple Watch will come out with new watch band options in both sport and leather, and that there will also be new aluminum casings – Rose Gold and regular Gold – to choose from.
There was also the unveiling of the successors to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The newly-announced 6s and 6s Plus look like their predecessors on the outside. However, as with other previous S variants, what Apple did was to overhaul the phones under the hood. Both the 6s and 6s Plus sport the new 3D Touch feature, which functions in the same way as the Force Touch tech on the Watch. The new iPhones' screens can now differentiate between a hard press and a soft tap and, depending on the pressure, will open and unlock more options for the user.
