Apple iOS 10 beta 6 download: Developers can get their hands on latest seed; Beta 5 out for public testers

iOS 10 beta 6 seed is now available for developers Apple

It has only been a week since Apple released iOS 10 beta 5, which is now available to public beta testers. Developers, on the other hand, can now try the iOS beta 6 on their iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch units.

iOS 10 was announced more than two months ago during the Worldwide Developers Conference 2016. The company said that the upcoming version is the biggest iOS update ever released.

MacRumors reported that iOS 10 beta 6 contains several bug fixes for the previous release, including an appropriate response from Siri when a user asks the digital assistant to remove an app. Messages Store now offers the search hint functionality. Beta testers added that iPad docks are now functioning properly as well.

For public beta testers, the iOS beta 5 includes a new lock sound, tweaks on its UI, a new AirPlay icon and a new wallpaper for its Home app. These are minor tweaks from the previous version, 9to5Mac added.

In general, iOS 10 will be offering a ton of new features and changes that include a redesigned Lock screen, a new Home screen experience for widgets, a revamped Music and News apps, a new Home app and many new iMessage features for its messaging app.

The latest download can be accessed via the Software Update section of the Settings app, which will show the OTA (over-the-air) update. This step is for those who have tried out other beta versions. For registered developers, and just starting now, it needs to be downloaded straight from Apple's developer website and will be made available after logging in to the developer's account.

Apple is rumored to release iOS 10 between Sept. 7 and 14 to the public. The iPhone 7 is also speculated to be released around these dates.
