As AMD unveiled two of its latest graphics cards – the Radeon RX 460 and the RX 470 at the E3 2016 in Los Angeles, California, its CEO has assured the stellar performance of their product while keeping in mind an affordable price point for its target market.

According to AMD CEO Luisa Su, they wanted to deliver quality performance for gamers within the $100- $300 price range which is what majority of gamers want to spend on the graphics cards.

"Most gamers have a budget and it's usually around $100 to $300. That's about 84 per cent of the market, and we're trying to get extremely enthusiast performance at those types of price so that all gamers can enjoy that kind of performance," she said.

For e-sports games like "League of Legends" the RX 460 is recommended as it utilizes only 75 watts. For a higher requirements power efficient 1090p gaming, the RX 470 version would be ideal.

"The Radeon RX Series harnesses the revolutionary Polaris architecture optimized for the 14nm FinFET process, the most cutting-edge process technology in the world featuring the smallest transistors ever used in a GPU, engineered to deliver unprecedented performance and power efficiency from incredibly small and thin chips," the press release for the graphics cards revealed.

It further emphasized the low price point and its thin and cutting edge design which makes it perfect for thin and light notebooks. The RX 480 which was released earlier sold for $199 for the 4GB version and $299 for the 8GB version, according to videocardz.com

"Notebook gamers are often forced to compromise. And tens of millions more can only read about incredible PC VR experiences that they can't enjoy for themselves. That all changes with the Radeon™ RX Series, placing compelling and advanced high-end gaming and VR technologies within reach of everyone," Raja Koduri, senior vice president and chief architect, Radeon Technologies Group, said.

The two graphics cards are believed to be marketed as competition to mainstream brand Nvidia which released GeForce GTX 1070 and the GT 1080 graphics cards, which are being lauded as the fastest GPUs in the market.

The GTX 1070 costs $449 while the GTX 1080 is more expensive at $699, based on GeForce's official website.
