2017 Porsche Panamera interior, price: New technology offers better infotainment features

The 2017 Porsche Panamera does look a lot better than its predecessor. It is sleeker and more stylish than its predecessor and the interior has also been improved. The latest technology provides better infotainment, which makes it better to drive.

Starting on the driver side, the instrument panel is very important to have a pleasant drive. The analog tachometer is still there at the center, flanked by two 7-inch displays that can display different information. Then there is the 12-inch screen at the center console, which runs Apple CarPlay and takes care of other things like additional information and entertainment, CNET reported.

Meanwhile, the interior has been upgraded, both up front and in the rear, and features a fresh look but still similar to the other Porsche trims. Its rear passenger seats have their own touchscreen and control panel as well.

The 2017 Porsche Panamera also contains a safety feature in the form of thermal imaging. This lets the driver know that a human or an animal is in front of the car; an image will be displayed on an LCD screen. This does require optional LED headlamps that will light up the road ahead in a different way.

Porsche also equipped the latest model with InnoDrive, a smart driving technology which calculates when and where one should accelerate and decelerate. It automatically shifts the gears for its driver when engaged.

Autoblog added that there are also fewer buttons to push in the new model. They are all on the touch-screen panel at the center. Upon entering the vehicle, one would only see a black plastic panel until the car is turned on. This is the only time that the three LCD panels will light up, and it is the only time that one can recognize what is in front of them.

The 2017 Porsche Panamera will be available in two variants, the 4S, with a starting price of US$99,990 and the Turbo variant, which starts at US$146,900.
