2017 Lincoln Continental price, specs: Luxurious mid-size sedan to arrive in showrooms before year ends

Lincoln has unveiled their 2017 Continental mid-size sedan at the Detroit auto show and created such a stir with its non-traditional door handles, an uncluttered side panel and a low-key look. However, It will still demand attention, especially when it first arrives in showrooms before 2016 ends.

The 2017 Lincoln Continental has a new signature grille at the front that hides a Lincoln exclusive 3.0L GTDI V6 engine. It's a twin-turbo powerhouse that produces up to 400 horsepower and about 400 lb-ft of torque. It has an EPA estimated rating of 16/24 mpg on city/highway, and 19 mpg combined. It is in an all-wheel drive configuration. There are also two other engines available for the latest model, a 2.7-liter turbo V-6 and a naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V-6. This will be offered in all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive options.

All the Continental variants will come with a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, with Paddle Activation. 18, 19 and 20-inch wheels, with different designs for the different trim models.

The upcoming luxury sedan will also come with a wide array of tools and technology, that includes, adaptive cruise, a 360-degree-view camera, lane-keeping assist, an automated-parking function and adjustable dampers. It will also come with heated, cooled, and massaging front and outboard rear seats. The front seats boast its 30-way adjustment options, even the left and right thigh bolsters can be adjusted to the desired height, Car and Driver reported.

Ford's Sync 3 infosystem will come standard, and will be available in either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto versions.

The 2017 Lincoln Continental will be offered in four trim levels: Premiere, Select, Reserve and Black Label.. Premiere is the base model and will come with HID headlights, the cool e-latch door handles, front and rear parking sensors fore and aft, rearview camera, 18-inch wheels, 10-way heated seats and push-button start. The Select trim will come with 19-inch wheels, a hands-free trunk, "power-cinch" doors, two USB chargers in the back seat, plus a standard 110-volt outlet.

The Reserve variant will add 24-way heated and cooled seats, blind spot indicators, tri-zone climate control, and several more amenities. While the Black Label, will have three sub –trims, and all about the interior's color combination, Chalet, Thoroughbred and Rhapsody.

The 2017 Lincoln Continental start with a base price of US$ 45,485 and can slide up to US$70,000 with all the available options. It is expected to arrive in showrooms toward the end of the year.
