The Jeep Grand Cherokee series is currently one of Fiat Chrysler's strongest SUV vehicle lines. To continue its success, 2017 models were introduced during the 2016 New York International Auto Show -- a new trim level for the Summit and an update for the other, the Trailhawk. Both are said to be the most capable SUVs in their class.

The 2017 Grand Cherokee Summit showcases the peak of SUV luxury. It offers high-end finishes such as the chrome-on-black color scheme of its front fascia and grille, as well as redesigned LED fog lamps. A new 20-inch polished aluminum wheel-design complements the changes.

Its interior is now offered in full leather and in diamond pattern, complete with welting on the edges. Its dashboard also comes with Nappa leather-wrapped consoles that continue on through its door panels. A suede headliner and Berber carpet mats complete the luxurious look of its interior.

Laguna leather is also available for those who want to indulge more.

The 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk now comes standard with underbody armor and skid plates, Quadra-Lift air suspension, Quadra-Drive II 4x4 system with a rear electronic limited-slip differential, and the usual Selec-Speed Control with Hill Ascent Control. Additional decal is placed on its hood to reduce the amount of glare that gets inside.

Its signature red tow hooks on the front and rear complement the looks, aside from their usefulness in many dire situations. It also comes with an 18-inch or the optional 20-inch Goodyear Adventure off-road tires with Kevlar reinforcement plus new red-accented badges, mirror caps and a roof rack. It will also be available in redline, silver, white, rhino, granite crystal, velvet red and black, All Par reported.

Towing capacity is up to 6,200 pounds for the V6 gasoline engine and up to 7,400 for the V8 and diesel engines.
