The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro may leave some thinking of how the changes may affect its performance. The sixth generation offering will be lighter, smaller, and will be the first to run on a four-cylinder engine.

So will any of those changes affect its performance and make? Hardly.

With Chevrolet hardly keeping any secrets, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro does come equipped with some impressive features. That includes an eight-speed automatic transmission, 455-horsepower, and 6.2-liter V8 Camaro SS.

With those features alone, one doesn't need to wonder how fast this new baby can go. But for the sake of informing you, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour (mph) in just four seconds. Yes, it is that fast. And mind you, those are just figures based on one model. So imagine how those numbers craze up all the more when you mix it up with more powerful stuff under the hood?

A bit reason for the bump in speed is attributed to the weight loss program applied on the 2016 model. With the aid of technology, the new Camaro's weight is 223 pounds lighter for the upscale V8 (SS) version and 390 pounds lighter for the base model which features a new 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine.

The whole massive weight reduction is attributed to the 'Alpha' modular platform aided by the company's talented engineering group. By pinpointing specific areas, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is 28 percent stiffer that its predecessor despite the reduction in weight.

Now, while all that addresses the issue of speed, it also of course translates to increased fuel efficiency — about 30 miles per gallon (mpg) for the four-cylinder version — and of course, better handling.

Faster, lighter and most of all fuel efficient, it won't be surprising if a lot of folks would want to get their hands on the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. It is expected to start selling this coming fall.
