YotaPhone 2 features: phone now comes in white, device made even better

When the YotaPhone 2 came out last year, it was still considered a novelty device, but many non-believers were made converts due to what many call revolutionary style.

The YotaPhone 2 is much like its predecessor, the original YotaPhone, having two displays, one at the front and one at the back. But the new YotaPhone 2 is made even better this time around. With an OLED display at the front and an e-ink panel at the back, it optimizes battery life, with owners using the e-ink screen panel for notifications, e-book readers, text messages, and other apps that don't require a color screen. Also, it does not require the user to unlock the phone periodically.

In addition, there is a firmware update in development that Yota, the company behind the dual-display devices, promises will bring more out of the two Yota devices. For the YotaPhone 2, the update will include the newest version of the Android Lollipop.

When the YotaPhone 2 was launched, it only came in an all-black design, with the e-ink screen at the back displaying white texts. Now, there is a new version of YotaPhone 2 in white, with the e-ink display on the back in inverted colors; black ink on white surface. This inverted color display is also available in the black model as a theme for the back panel.

In addition to the new white model, the YotaPhone 2 also made overtures to its already reasonable price, and took a significant price cut. The two models are on sale now at the Yota online store, and buyers in the United Kingdom can purchase the phone for £440. Elsewhere in Europe, the price for the YotaPhone 2 is €599.
