The Xiaomi Mi 5 is said to be the China-based company's upcoming smartphone release. In the past months, leaks hinting at what the device will look like and what specs it will pack came flooding in. Constant in this flurry of details is the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner, which a new leaked teaser seems to highlight.

Top tipster KJuma posted on Weibo what appears to be a teaser for the flagship. The image has the numeral 5 taking most of the space with the words "Are you ready" plastered just under it. A graphic at the very bottom of the image resembles a fingerprint, which is interpreted as Xiaomi hinting that their new handset will feature such biometric sensor.

Unfortunately, this is the only aspect the teaser reveals and it seems to be what the company wants to highlight on the Xiaomi Mi 5 release. Nevertheless, rumor mills have been saying that the smartphone is quite a stellar offering, boasting powerful specs.

There were constant rumors that the device will get its power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Now, a report from Phone Arena claims it will go with a Snapdragon 810 unit instead. The site says it will take a while for the flagship to be released if it will wait for the new-gen chipset to arrive. Other reports say it will have MediaTek Helio X20.

Other speculations include a 5.2-inch display with Quad HD quality and either 3 or 4 GB of RAM. The rear camera is said to be at 16 megapixels; although there's no word on the selfie snapper. The smartphone is also expected to have Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box and will pack a 3000 mAh battery.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 is practically overdue. Its predecessor, the Mi 4, was released July last year. Its expected release is said to be set in November.
