Xiaomi Mi 4c release date, specs and features rumors: New leak reveals handset's full list of specs

Just days after the Xiaomi Mi 4c showed up in the website of Chinese certification agency TENAA, a photo showcasing the back of its box made the rounds.

The photo spilled the beans on almost everything on the device's specs sheet. For one, the leak revealed that the so-called Mi 4i variant will feature a 5-inch 1080p display. It will purportedly get its processing power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset with the help of 2 GB of RAM.

This processor is the same unit in the LG G4. This should make the Mi 4c relatively more powerful than the Mi 4i, which has a Snapdragon 615 processor under its hood that is composed of an Adreno 405 GPU and lower-performance Cortex-A53 cores.

The smartphone will reportedly come with a 16 GB variant but there's also word that a version with 32 GB of storage space will be released. The Xiaomi Mi 4c will boast the same 13 MP camera unit on its rear and a 5 MP snapper for selfies. It will also use the reversible USB Type-C connector.

The newly introduced MIUI 7 operating system will be found in the Xiaomi Mi 4c. This will be another one of the upgrades the device gets over the Mi 4i. However, it will pack a 3080 mAh battery, a comparatively smaller unit than the 3120 mAh pack found in the standard version.

The only missing tidbit is the device's price. It is estimated that it will bear the same price tag as that of the Xiaomi Mi 4i, which is currently at 1,299 Yuan or $200. If it does end up with that value, buyers will enjoy greater processing power for the same economical price.

According to Xiaomi Today, the Xiaomi Mi 4c will be launched on Sept. 24 and will be available for purchase on Oct. 3.
