Players who are thinking of upgrading or switching to an Xbox One will have at least one more reason to do so, as Microsoft has announced a surprise treat for its fans.
Microsoft has posted the promotion on its Xbox site. According to the post, buying any Xbox One bundle from participating outlets will have one game bundled together for free. Participating retailers include Best Buy, GameStop, and Target. For online shoppers, the deal can also be availed of at Amazon and the Microsoft Store. The Xbox One with free game bundle is good until Nov. 21.
GameSpot reported that this deal by Microsoft is a sweet one for gamers, particularly its timing. The deal opened during a period when some of the most anticipated game titles release before the holidays. For hardcore players who want to experience the Xbox One, they can also get game titles like "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," "Fallout 4," "Halo 5: Guardians," and "Rise of the Tomb Raider." In addition, the promo period also falls on the global release date for "Star Wars: Battlefront" today, so gamers may expect the title to also be included as an option.
As with any promotion, gamers must be familiar with the fine print for the Xbox One game bundle deal. The free game included in the purchase can either be a disc title or the digital copy of it. However, aside from current title releases, pre-order games are not included in the selection. The deal is also good as one game per purchase, and up to three purchases and games per person only.
Microsoft seems to be focusing its attention on the Xbox One system before the holiday starts. Aside from the promotion, there are other deals available, such as a $100 credit for a PS3 or an Xbox 360 trade-in at GameStop, as well as $100 Gift card for Target shoppers trading in their Xbox 360s.
