Xbox One backwards compatibility games: 'Red Dead Redemption' to be added soon?

Red Dead Redemption Rockstar

According to Xbox One enthusiasts, one of the features of the Microsoft console that became an instant hit when it launched was its backwards compatibility. This means that hardcore fans can play classic titles on the Xbox One, provided that the game has been added to the backwards compatibility list.

Because of this, a number of classic Xbox games rumored to be added to the games list have sprouted online. Recent speculations place triple-A title "Red Dead Redemption" from Rockstar Games to be one of the major games that will make it to the games list.

In a report by Express UK, it was mentioned that "Red Dead Redemption" was seen as already available to play on the Xbox One for those who own the game digitally. Meanwhile, aside from the Rockstar Games title, the same glitch can also be found with other titles such as "Tekken Tag Tournament 2" and "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night." In addition to the last two, previous titles said to also display as an "available download" for the Xbox One include "Call of Duty: Black Ops" and "Halo Wars."

The last two titles were already confirmed by Microsoft to be among the classic games that will eventually make it to the Xbox One backwards-compatible games list, although the roll-out dates are yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, the Redmond-based Xbox One parent company has yet to confirm if "Red Dead Redemption" and the other rumored triple-A titles will also be included on the list. According to GameSpot, Microsoft also advised players not to check out the game since playing unconfirmed downloads is a violation of the Xbox Live Code of Conduct. Players who already downloaded the game reportedly announced on online forums that indeed, "Red Dead Redemption" can be played on the Xbox One. However, it fails to launch as an online-connected title, so the players only checked out the game in its offline mode. This way though, the game is played with some features missing, such as saving points.
