Xbox Games with Gold December 2014: Free games to expect

It's that time of the month when console gamers are anticipating the new free game releases from Sony and Microsoft. However, it's more exciting this time since Christmas is just around the corner. Members of Sony PS Plus and Microsoft's Xbox Games with Gold are expecting awesome games for the holidays.

It's very usual for Sony to release their games earlier. It's Sony's move to put pressure on Microsoft's releases. This December 2014, Sony pushes it by offering an "AAA" game for their members. According to PR.net, Sony will offer "Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition" on PS4. "Secret Ponchos" will also be offered.

Microsoft has only offered "Volgarr the Viking" in its Games with Gold update. Despite it being a good game, members are still waiting for something big, something that is "AAA" level, too. So, how will Microsoft be able to compete with Sony's "Injustice" offering?

According to Gamepur, there are two games that are contending to be in the December 2014 Games with Gold lineup. The first is "Ryse: Son of Rome." This game is a third-person action adventure game. Crytek developed the game and has already received a lot of awards for its excellent graphics.

This game was offered for free as it was bundled with the Limited Edition of "Sunset Overdrive" for the White Xbox One bundle. But now, the game is no longer available for purchase. Could that be a hint?

The next game is "Dead Rising 3." It's by Capcom and it also has a good chance of making the list given that it was one of the "biggest Xbox One games at launch," says Gamepur.

"Halo: The Master Chief Collection" and "Halo 5: Guardians" are great offerings by Microsoft, but adding that "AAA" level game should really make the members happy and satisfied this Christmas season. After all, isn't that what Microsoft would want to happen?
