WWE Summerslam 2016 predictions: Brock Lesnar to take on Randy Orton, Samoa Joe or Goldberg?

Aside from preparing for his return to the Octagon for UFC 200 where he will be pitted against Mark Hunt on July 9, the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar is also being pitted against several potential opponents for the WWE's annual Summerslam event.

According to a report by Sportsrageous, several potential WWE superstars are being eyed as Lesnar's match for the August event.

One of the names being floated is The Legend Killer Randy Orton, whose injury last year kept him from participating in the major WWE event. Orton's skills and versatility both as a face and as a heel in the varying storylines of the organization, could be a good opponent for Lesnar especially if a good storyline is developed between the two until Summerslam.

Another interesting potential opponent is Samoa Joe, who may not be as popular as Orton but could generate much excitement since Lesnar's UFC opponent Mark Hunt also hails from Samoa. Whatever the outcome of UFC 200, it can be used to build a potential grudge match between the two tough wrestlers.

Meanwhile, based on a report by Sportsworldnews, Lesnar has been listed down as a powerful potential match against Goldberg who is set to return to the ring after his last appearance in 2004.

Goldberg, who has been featured in WWE 2K17 has earlier said that he is open to the idea of resuming his wrestling career and he would much like to make his comeback during The Biggest Party of the Summer.

It can be recalled that Lesnar and Goldberg, who are both giants in their own right, first faced off in Wrestlemania XX, to lukewarm results. With years behind them, a rematch could prove to be the draw for audiences fans of Goldberg and supporters of the Beast Incarnate.

Other potential matches for Goldberg are Roman Reigns, who shares the signature spear move with the former, as well as John Cena, one of the WWE's longest reigning superstars.
