The 29th annual WWE SummerSlam is already in the works for this year, with the final date being set for August 21. Sports Skeeda calls it one of the biggest wrestling events of the year, alongside WrestleMania, Survivor Series and Royal Rumble. Rumors suggest that the upper card will include big names like Brock Lesnar, John Cena and the current WWE Champion Roman Reigns. They are expected to spearhead the event being held on Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It will be aired live on the WWE Network.

Acording to MNRDaily, there are no definite responses yet as to who Brock Lesnar will bee matched up with. Even with only three months to go, his matches are still undetermined, but speculations suggest that his opponents might be Braun Strowman or Bray Wyatt, who both have unresolved issues with the pro. Others are also quick to mention his unfinished battle with Ambrose in WrestleMania 32. However, none of these rumors held up- Wyatt is expected to match against John Cena and Ambrose with Chris Jericho. Brock is still remaining silent while he is training to build up for his SummerSlam match.

Inquisitr also notes that the rumors on Brock Lesnar facing Bray Wyatt have disappeared, because "plans changed". The WWE previously teased a brawl between the two to build up hype, but it looks like Wyatt got an injury earlier this year and thus will be unfit for a brawl with the said opponent. However, they do state that Wyatt's name is not something that the WWE officials are eager put a championship belt on. If he won a match against Lesnar, it would go a long way towards him smoothing it over with the WWE. Of all the names on the roster, he has the most motivation to go against Brock Lesnar.

The WWE SummerSlam is expected to take place live in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn this August 21. It will also be aired live on the WWE Network on the same day.
