Two major players in the computer operating system industry are Microsoft and Apple. While the two are mostly competitors in major tech product lineups, what most users don't know is that Apple OS X devices can also load Microsoft's newly-released Windows 10 platform.
For Apple OS X users, using an app called Boot Camp will enable the devices, particularly those that have Macs no older than 2012. Apple devices should also run on the most recent build of OS X.
Those who want to check out Windows 10 on their OS X Macs can first download the 64-bit platform file. The new Windows 10 can be installed as an ISO file through an installation DVD or a USB flash drive. Moreover, users should also make sure to download the full installation file for Windows 10, and not the upgrade installer.
Apple also informs users to check out their support page first before attempting to install Windows 10, particularly those who will be using the Boot Camp Assistant for the first time, and are unfamiliar with loading Windows platforms on their Mac devices.
The Boot Camp program can also be used by users to upgrade their previous Windows OS without resorting to installations, and the updating process is much like how the Windows 7 and 8.1 platforms upgrade to Windows 10 on other devices. However, the Boot Camp Assistant will still detect what type of platform the Mac has, since the upgrade will only allow for the 64-bit version of Windows 10.
Windows 10 is the latest platform to be released by tech giant Microsoft, and the new version boasts of much-better performance and new features. Some of the newer apps for the Windows 10 include Cortana, Microsoft's proprietary digital assistant; the Edge, a new integrated browser; and Windows Hello, a new security app for Windows 10 users using facial and iris biometrics information from the owner.
