'Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection' news: Compendium to give access to game multiplayer beta

Publisher Naughty Dog has announced that a special edition of the planned "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" will be released alongside the regular compendium package. The Special Edition bundle will have real-world items included in the pack, such as a 48-page artbook that contains designs and concept art for the three bundled titles, as well as a steelbook case.

However, both the regular compendium and the Special Edition releases have one additional perk for "Uncharted" fans – it will give players early access to the upcoming "Uncharted 4" multiplayer beta.

The multiplayer beta will be launched in the coming months and will give players a sneak peek on the many changes and improved features to the upcoming title's systems. In addition, the multiplayer beta also serves as the same multiplayer option for the three bundled releases, which will only have single-player campaign stories on them.

Naughty Dog's Eric Monacelli explains, "We don't want to split up our awesome U2 and U3 MP communities that we have right now either. Everyone who buys collection will get U4 MP Beta access and it'll be a fun way to get ready for U4!"

Meanwhile, it is becoming more and more solid that the next installment in the story, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," will be making its way to gamers before March next year. According to game observer IGN, a recent art box reveal narrows down the release window for the upcoming installment. Meanwhile, it was also reported by Franchise Herald that during a conference, PlayStation president Andrew House confirmed that the upcoming Naughty Dog title will be out before Sony's 2015 fiscal year ends, which will close on March 2016.

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" was originally scheduled to be released in October However, due to numerous setbacks, the title's release was postponed indefinitely, with an indeterminate rollout schedule.
