Avid gamers can expect a lot of exciting new additions in the fourth installment of the "Uncharted" franchise.

Game developer Naughty Dog shared with Game Informer that the soon-to-be released PlayStation 4 edition of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will have a multiplayer mode. Although this is not the first time that the action-adventure third-person shooter game will be offered with a multiplayer option (this mode was also present in "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" and "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception"), players will definitely appreciate knowing this bit of information. Naughty Dog refused to give more details about the multiplayer mode, however.

Nonetheless, Game Informer, which features the upcoming video game in its February issue, managed to get hold of key information about its plot .

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," according to the publication, takes place three years after the events left behind by "Uncharted 3." This time, game protagonist Nathan Drake and Elena Fisher are already in a relationship and living together. But when his younger brother Sam, long believed to be dead, returns and tells him that he badly needs his help to find an artifact from Henry Avery, Nathan instantly returns to his treasure hunting days.

The Drake brothers immediately embark on a long journey to find what they are looking for. The younger Drake brings Nathan to a mythical place in Madagascar called Libertalia, but they venture to other places like snowy mountains as well.

Aside from their action-packed adventures, fans of the game will also see the dynamics between Sam and Nate's relationship. It is mentioned that Sam is five years younger than Nathan, and he is more adventurous and carefree. Could this lead to some sibling rivalry?

The brothers also have to face two rival hunters named Nadine and Rafe, who will use a treasure hunting approach quite different from what Nathan is used to.

"Uncharted 4" is scheduled to be released sometime this year.
