Michael McDonald has been out of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) action since 2013 but the bantamweight fighter will be making a comeback at UFC 195. The 24-year-old McDonald has been plagued with injuries but it seems that he is good to go now and will face Masanori Kanehara for his return bout.

McDonald last fought Urijah Faber at UFC on Fox 9 back in December 2013 where he lost via submission. He has battled through injuries which included perhaps the worst one, a hand injury that kept him out until now.

He holds a 16–3 record and currently holds the eighth spot in the bantamweight division. And now, with his impending return, McDonald will look to climb his way up the division with hope of getting a title shot once more.

The closest that McDonald got was when he fought Renan Barão in February 2013 when he, unfortunately, lost. It didn't take him long to get back on the winning track, defeating Brad Pickett via submission.

It remains to be seen how he will fare against a more seasoned Kanehara who is coming off a loss at the hands of Rani Yahya. He currently holds a 1–1 record, the lone win he registered at the hands of Alex Caceres.

However, Kanehara is oozing with experience heading into UFC 195. He fought almost all of his career in Japan, although he has yet to get accustomed fighting in the Octagon.

The set tiff will be one of the cards for UFC 195 which will take place on Jan. 2, 2016. The main event will see Robbie Lawler go up against Carlos Condit in a welterweight match which will take place in Las Vegas.

Other than the Lawler vs. Condit setto, another main card to look out for is the one between Andrei Arlovski and Stipe Miocic in the heavyweight division.
