Latest report claimed that "Mad Men" actress Elisabeth Moss is close to saying yes in playing the female lead in the next season of "True Detective".
In an interview with USA Today for her new movie "The One I Love," Elisabeth Moss and her co-star Mark Duplass hinted that the actress will be joining the cast of the second season of "True Detective".
When asked whether she will be part of the "True Detective" cast, Mark Duplass interjected, "I know more than she does at this point."
"I'll just say that since people have started to see (The One I Love), I've gotten lots of e-mails from (HBO) brass that I work with, and every one of them is in love with Elisabeth Moss. So more and more rumors are going to fly," he added.
Other reports claimed that she is already in talks to the people behind the series. If rumors proved to be true, Elisabeth Moss will play the female character of a sheriff named Ani Bezzerides who has a dark past.
This female sheriff will most likely be the center of all of the characters. The female lead will be in her 30s and will have her own issues. The character will have a troubled past and have gambling and alcohol issues.
If rumors are true, Moss will be joining other heavy weight actors for the TV series' next season. Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch are tapped to play the two leads in the second season of "True Detective," although the actors have not confirmed yet if they will take the roles or not.
On the other hand, latest rumors claimed that Vince Vaughn is also having discussions with the management in playing the fourth leading role. Other reports claimed that he will play the role of a villain next season.
HBO has not announced the exact premiere date of the "True Detective" season 2 yet. However, reports claimed that the series will be back on air in January 2015.
