Total War: Warhammer release date gameplay news: title set for worldwide rollout on May 24

 Creative Assembly, SEGA, Games Workshop

"Total War: Warhammer", after a one-month delay in its initial release date, will finally have its worldwide debut by May 24, 2016.

According to Total War creative director Mike Simpson, "This could be the best Total War game we've ever made. We don't want to rush it."

As such, they ensured that the game's reviewers have the sufficient game time in order to ensure the game's quality even before getting launched.

Creative Assembly, the studio responsible for the "Total War" games, describes "Total War: Warhammer" as their first game featured in a fantasy setting, featuring creatures such as orcs, dwarves, vampires and other creatures of legend. The developers expect to give their players hundreds of hours' worth of gameplay, with tons of features that would surely captivate both die-hard fans of Warhammer and Total War.

However, a lot of veterans of the latter are slightly skeptical since there are only four main factions in the game--Humans, Orcs, Dwarves and Vampires. For those who had played the previous "Total War" titles, these games were always overflowing with different factions, and may thus find that this new game is lacking with diversity.

But in an interview made by IGN to Andy Hall, lead writer for the game, refuted this and said: "What you're getting in effect is four Total War experiences in one game - their Campaigns are totally different with their own agendas, aims and value systems."

Hall then cited the Empire as the most traditional faction for "Total War" veterans, since they're comprised of humans who still collect taxes, keep order and the like. Orcs, however, are more focused on conquest and battles in such a way that, if they don't get to conquer new lands, they'll most likely turn against themselves and fight each other.

Also, with the minimum and recommended specs finally released by Creative Assembly, "Total War: Warhammer" will become their first 64-bit "Total War" game. Additionally, they're also releasing a "60+ fps Spec" to cater specifically for players with machines that are able to hit that threshold while playing the game.
