Nexus 5

Google Nexus smartphones have gained a great following thanks to their fair specs and features as well as friendly prices.

According to Know Your Mobile, the search engine giant is about to unveil the new Nexus smartphone soon. It was speculated that the Nexus 6 will be launched at the I/O Conference in June alongside Android 4.5. However, it seemed that the release date was pushed back in September or October. Google has remained mum about the details of the next Nexus handset.

Below are the top five features of Google Nexus 6 consumers should watch out for on the smartphone's release date.

Processor – According to Taiwan's Economic Daily News, the Nexus 6 will be powered by a "quad-core MT6732 64-bit chip clocked at 1.5GHz, or the octa-core MT6752 SoC running at a frequency of 2.0GHz." All of smartphones are moving towards that direction of packing more powerful processors.

Fingerprint Sensor – Just like the unannounced LG G3, the Google Nexus 6 will pack a fingerprint scanner. To add fuel to the fire, previous reports claimed that Google has been in talks with a bunch of Asian fingerprint scanner manufacturers hinting that the company will add the said feature to its smartphone.

Larger Screen Display – Latest rumors claimed that Google Nexus 6 will pack a larger screen display. It was speculated that the next Nexus smartphone will have a super thin bezels and a 5.7-inch Super LCD4 display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution.

Additional Storage – Past Nexus smartphones were available in 16GB and 32GB variant. Google may take things differently this time and may offer 64GB model or add a microSD slot for external storage.

Android 4.5 Lollipop – One of the advantages of buying a Nexus smartphone is having the perks of being the first smartphone to enjoy the new Android OS and its updates. Google Nexus 6 will run with the upcoming 4.5 version of Android OS.
