'Thor 3' movie plot rumors: Was Tom Hiddleston teasing about Loki's wife?

Marvel's announcement of the Phase Three slate pretty much toned down the explosion of rumors and speculations for the upcoming Marvel superhero movies. But then again, confirming "Thor: Ragnarok" doesn't mean fans and comic geeks won't stop speculating about what's coming in the third installment of the movie.

Comic Book Movie was resourceful enough to find an old interview of Tom Hiddleston, wherein it's possible that he was already hinting that the franchise is going to go with the "Ragnarok" storyline. The interview was done during a press tour for "Thor: The Dark World."  During the interview, Tom shared his opinion about where the movie is headed.

"There's obviously no script or anything. When I read the comic books, I thought it was an interesting way to go," Hiddleston said.

He was referring to the story in the comics about "Ragnarok."

Now that Marvel has confirmed it, there's another thing that the actor mentioned, which is now being speculated as something that may happen in the third movie.

"In the myth, he has a wife called Sigyn who protects him from a poison serpent who is dripping venom into his mouth. And she has a bowl over his mouth and of course the bowl keeps filling up and she has to empty it, and so his damnation could be interesting," he shared. "I don't know... I mean, Loki is a character who's existed in popular consciousness for 3,000 years, so there are many, many iterations I could explore... It's just a question of whether audiences would want to see him again."

Hiddleston and "Thor" fans are in unison when it comes to seeing more of Loki in the next movie. Even Cinema Blend agrees to seeing him again. However, the site also shared their opinion about seeing Sigyn in "Ragnarok."

Sigyn may be an important person in Loki's life that leads to "Ragnarok," also referred to as the destruction of Gods. This is when Asgard falls and crumbles to the ground. Although she is important, the writers will have to stick close to Norse mythology to pull this story off. Given how "Thor 2" ended, with Loki sitting all-powerful on the throne, the writers may have to do a 180 on this one.

It should be very interesting to see a Mrs. Loki in "Thor: Ragnarok" if this will be Tom's last movie as Thor's adopted brother, as the British actor's contract is expiring. Nonetheless, there will still be plenty of speculations on the way since "Thor: Ragnarok" won't be released until July 18, 2017. That's still a very long way to go.
