'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt': Twitch bans streaming of game after major leak

Two weeks prior to the release of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," the CD Projekt Red title was leaked. Reports say that physical copies of the highly-anticipated game were sold early in some stores in the United Arab Emirates and gameplay footage immediately found its way to Twitch.

Before the infamous clip, there were also snaps showing a physical copy of the game, which led many to believe that the game was sold even before it was allowed to hit store shelves. "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is scheduled to come out on May 19.

Apart from a spoiler-packed video, there are also screenshots of the game that are making the rounds, most of them rampant on Twitch. The leaksters were banned by the company and so will any more users who decide to upload anything involving the title prior to its release.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not allowed for broadcasting until May 19, 2015," Twitch warned gamers and potential leakers via their Twitter account. "Broadcasting before this date is subject to DMCA guidelines."

Website Kotaku also advises gamers to shun streaming the game as this will also get them debarred from Twitch. In a nutshell, those who stream Geralt of Rivia's new adventures will get into major trouble. Twitch would not be happy with any more tomfoolery and the site keeps its eyes peeled.

The game has already received several accolades in the past, including the Most Anticipated Game at the 2014 Game Awards and the Most Wanted Award at the 31st and the 32nd Golden Joystick Award.  Needless to say, gamers can't wait to get their hands on the title. It's just a few days of waiting, however, as "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" will be officially available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 19.
