All this talk of a fan favorite character being killed off has fans of the show turning into amateur sleuths and analyzing each frame of every promotional material released by AMC regarding the upcoming season for clues.

Who could this unlucky casualty be? Season 7 pilot episode director Greg Nicotero didn't help matters by saying that the pilot was one of the most emotional and difficult episodes that the show had to pull off in its entirety, further fueling speculations that it is a character that is close to the hearts of the fans of the show who have followed "The Walking Dead" since the beginning.

Based on Robert Kirkman's graphic novel, it was Glenn who met his violent lethal end thanks to Lucille, Negan's barbed baseball bat and weapon of choice. Glenn is one of the handful of original cast members remaining in the series.

Now that AMC has released its latest promo video, fans are analyzing every last frame to see if the show will stay true to the graphic novel.

According to a report by Digital Spy, odds are heavy that Maggie (Lauren Cohan) could be the casualty since the blood splatter after the fatal beating came from Rick's right side where Maggie was positioned.

There was also the possibility that it could be Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) because fans speculated that if it was Maggie, there would have been more blood that what was splattered on Rick's face. Abraham was right next to Maggie, and it could be recalled that Negan was looking for Rick's right-hand man.

While Daryl's fan base is very strong, this does not mean that Norman Reedus' character is safe from slaughter. Eagle-eyed fans spotted the blanket that he was using strewn haphazardly on the ground in the midst of the dark scene and concluded that after he suffered a gunshot wound, he would still be using that blanket if he was still alive.

What's sure is that fans will be in for a thrilling season.

"In putting together these episodes, I'm saying that this season ... the performances this year are astounding. The actors this year are the star of the show. Be on the lookout for some amazing performances, some really unbelievable creepy, strange, weird walkers," showrunner Scott Gimple said to The Hollywood Reporter

Barring more information,"The Walking Dead" season 7 premieres on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
