In the aftermath of the brutal slaying of Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) in the season 7 premiere of AMC's "The Walking Dead," Negan (Jeffery Dean Morgan) hauls off an injured Daryl (Norman Reedus) to one of the Saviors' vans and tells Rick (Andrew Lincoln) that he will send back his friend in pieces if Rick fails to honor their agreement.

In the latest promo for the episode — entitled "The Cell" — fans are finally given a glimpse into what happens to Daryl, who is also one of the handful of original characters remaining in the show from the first season of "The Walking Dead."

In the clip, Daryl is shown inside what appears to be a cell, obviously abused and beaten by the Saviors. A sliver of light passes through the slits in the cell which show Daryl's true condition. The clip also shows Daryl as the Saviors try to break him by shoving him weaponless into a fence that separates their location from a herd of walkers on the other side. Through it all, Daryl remains defiant and unbending.

This prods Negan to approve of Daryl's rebelliousness. Viewers can recall that Daryl's defiance of Negan's orders to stay put after Abraham's execution led to Glenn's demise in the first episode.

Making Daryl's predicament more ominous is Honey/Sherry (Christine Evangelista) saying, "Whatever he has done... there is more."

In the last episode, Carol (Melissa McBride) and Morgan (Lennie James) were embraced by a new sanctuary called The Kingdom led by its leader King Ezekiel (Khary Payton), a larger than life character who has a pet tiger named Shiva by his side at all times.

The Kingdom has also cut a deal with the Saviors to supply them with meat and produce in exchange for the safety of its residents. However, the Saviors don't know that the meat they are receiving has been fed some deadly walker flesh.
