Bad news for fans of AMC's "The Walking Dead." You may still be reeling from the news that a fan favorite character will definitely meet his (or her) demise at the hands of the show's latest big bad Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and yet fresh rumors are hinting that there will be more than one casualty in the season 7 premiere.

The confirmation came straight from Negan himself as he shared the information with Den of Geek. "Negan's not just going to kill one person in [the premiere]. He's not afraid of bashing in skulls," he said.

As if that wasn't enough, the actor went on to say that the premiere is gut wrenching as well as violent.

"I'll be interested to see how the fans handle it. It's going to be a lot more than the people are expecting. You're about to see someone that you love just f**king take it," Jeffrey Dean Morgan added.

Earlier reports have theorized that the casualty could be one of the show's remaining original characters, Glenn (Steven Yeun). After all, the character did meet his end via skull bashing in Volume 100 of Robert Kirkman's graphic novel series.

Fans who have analyzed the latest promo frame by frame have theorized that it could be Maggie (Lauren Cohan) or Abraham (Michael Cuditz) who gets their heads bashed in because of their position in the line up on Rick's right side, repiorted Digital Spy.

Some have theorized that Daryl (Norman Reedus) may not be safe after his blanket was seen strewn haphazardly on the ground as Rick was being dragged by the ruthless Negan to a parked trailer.

Greg Nicotero — who directed the first episode — teased that the episode will showcase some unbelievable performances from the actors, adding that the season 7 premiere was the most emotional episode the show has done so far. He said that fans should expect the series to continue to go to some "insane places emotionally".

"Some of the most amazing moments are found not where you're going to expect them when you watch the first episode," teased Nicotero.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 premieres on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
