Stefan's most feared moment has come ever since he learned that his girlfriend Caroline (Candice King) is pregnant with the witch twins. The blonde vampire will now decide whether she will stay in Mystic Falls or go to the Dallas with the babies in the upcoming episode of "The Vampire Diaries."
In "Moonlight on the Bayou," CarterMatt reports that Caroline has half a mind to join Alaric (Matt Davis) and the twins as they leave town to start a new life. She will reportedly make an offer to accompany them to Dallas. If she does leave Mystic Falls, it means that she is also giving up on her relationship with Stefan. Now a mother, Caroline's perspective is geared toward her babies' condition and their welfare. Stefan understands this, but it will not make their separation much easier.
Worrying about Caroline and the vindictive vampire hunter hounding his friends have tested his mettle in the past weeks. That is why when the opportunity arises, he will grab the chance to leave town for a while. Valerie (guest star Elizabeth Blackmore) knows a safe house in New Orleans where the vampire can stay and reflect. Once there, however, Stefan will encounter his old friend Klaus (guest star Joseph Morgan).
In January, executive producer Julie Plec shared with TV Line that Stefan would be heading to a bar in Klaus' territory where no magic could penetrate. The Salvatore hero will also be helping the Original on a quest of his own. Stefan will reportedly stick around for a while to help out Klaus with his problem regarding the trinity and the impending sire line war. In exchange, Klaus will give him some advice about life and relationships.
"The crossover was born out Stefan needing a place to escape. He's on the run. He needs to go somewhere where magic can't find him, and we realized he can go to New Orleans where there's that bar where magic doesn't work," Plec said.
