After three seasons of competing with each other, will Original hybrid vampire Klaus and his surrogate son Marcel finally reconcile?
According to executive producer Julie Plec, this will not be impossible because despite persistent conflict in their complicated relationship, Klaus also recognizes that his survival is partly due to Marcel's intervention.
"The indignity of Klaus Mikaelson's situation the last five years [is being] held captive by his surrogate son and forced to be an advisor to a king that he does not recognize. Also, [he knows] Marcel is actually singularly responsible for the fact he's alive, because so many people have come to town in the last five years desperate to see him reduced to ash," Plec said to Entertainment Weekly.
When the show returns for its fourth season, it is expected to feature a five year time jump which will show Klaus and Hayley's baby Hope as a little girl.
According to a report by Inquisitr, while Hope may be her father's chance at redemption, he will still be torn over his need to avenge the death of Cami who died last season.
Season 4 is also set to welcome back Davina, whose powers will allow her to return on some form to New Orleans despite dying in Episode 20 of last season.
"Davina is a special entity. She is a New Orleans witch and we know that those witch souls exist beyond the realm of what we call life. There is an afterlife for witches. Yes, Davina is seemingly gone at the end of episode 20, but there's still more story to tell with the ancestors. There's still more story to tell with Kol and Vincent and even Marcel wanting revenge against them. I'd say there's still more story to tell with Davina," showrunner Michael Narducci said.
Claire Holt is also rumored to return to the show to reprise her role as Rebekah but she, along with other members of the Mikaelson family are tethered to a dreamscape with their only hope to be saved lying in Hayley's ability to find seven werewolf packs, which is a challenge in itself.
