Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will be facing a whole bunch of angry progenies alone in the upcoming season of The CW Televison Network's supernatural series "The Originals."

TV Fanatic reports that the hybrid, who is not in good terms with his siblings, will have to deal with a brewing sire line war alone in season 3. With Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt/Maisie Richardson-Sellers) reportedly not ready to let bygones be bygones, Klaus will find himself isolated in one of the biggest battles of his vampire life.

In the trailer released by the network, progenies can be seen arriving in New Orleans looking for their vampire parents. Klaus laments about the family estrangement, looking sad and disappointed on what is happening to him and his brother and sister. He will put up a strong front, though, telling himself he is still "the thing that men fear."

Viewers last saw Klaus pissing every member of his family and anyone else who dared cross him in his pursuit of the Quarter, which he was destined to control. In the promo, he is seen talking with a mysterious stranger, perhaps discussing alternative war strategy in the absence of his siblings. But will he be able to defend the Quarter and manage the horde of progenies intent on killing him?

The website postulates that Klaus may end up begging the help of Klaus and Rebecca in the fight. It is also possible that he will find a way to overcome the progenies and unite the sire lines to form his own army.

In an interview The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Michael Narducci expounded the Mikaelson sire lines in the upcoming installment.

According to Narducci, "We're going to see the first time someone was turned into a vampire. We're going to see what life was like for the Mikaelson siblings, not long after Esther turned them. In the present, we will see the return of some of these faces, and what their feelings are today — knowing full well if an Original vampire dies, the entire sire line dies."

"The Originals" will return on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
