Eli (Alan Cumming) will not be prepared for Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) wrath in the upcoming episode of the CBS series "The Good Wife."
In "Iowa," the promo reveals Alicia's reaction to Eli's confession during the midseason finale. He was feeling raw that Courtney (Vanessa Williams) decided to go home to California even after he begged her to stay. Eli realized how it was to yearn for a loved one, that he felt it was time to tell Alicia a secret that he had been keeping for quite a long time.
Eli told Alicia that shortly before his death, Will (Josh Charles) sent her a message, saying he loved her and would give up everything to be with her. Alicia's phone was with Eli that time, as she was busy helping Peter (Chris Noth) with his promotion. When the campaign strategist heard the voicemail, he deleted it, thinking that his candidate did not need the negative press that his wife was in a relationship with another man.
The clip shows Alicia's dumbfounded expression after Eli's admission. The two can be seen sitting at the dining table at Alicia's home. Eli is apologizing to her about what he did, but Alicia will have none of it. She commands him to shut up while she quietly digests what she heard. When Eli attempts once again to explain his side, Alicia suddenly goes on a rampage.
She stands up, hurls her drink to a horrified Eli and then grabbed a stack of glass plates. Alicia then proceeds to hurling them one by one at him. Eli has no choice but to run, as shattering plates rain behind him. When he finally makes it out of the house, Alicia slams the door in his face. To say that she is livid is an understatement.
Unfortunately for Alicia, she will have to tolerate Eli a little longer, as the entire Florrick team will travel to Iowa for the caucus. TV Guide reports that Alicia and Eli will be in close quarters, as they will ride in one bus, along with the rest of Peter's entourage.
"The Good Wife" season 11 will return on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
