Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) and Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) will agree on an uneasy truce as they continue the fight against meta-humans in the upcoming episodes of The CW series "The Flash."

Sears and the other executive producers talked about the crossover between Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen's (Stephen Amell) worlds to defeat Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) in a recent press event at The CW headquarters. Variety reports that one of the things they discussed was the speed serum that Wells has been working on with Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) to boost Barry's speed so can defeat Zoom (Tony Todd).

In the "Legends of Today" episode, Wells was shot by Patti Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) in the chest. She saw him while he was out of the streets looking for materials and followed him back at the S.T.A.R. Labs. Patti could not believe that Wells was from another world and not actually the mad scientist who caused Barry so much pain. When Wells tried to explain everything, she grew more suspicious and reacted by shooting him. Caitlin was horrified and she called Joe West (Jesse Martin) so they could operate on Wells.

Unfortunately, even with their combined forces, Wells could die as the bullet ploughed through his pulmonary artery. They needed someone who could work fast on the scientist, but Barry was not around to save the day. The next best thing was, of course, Jay, the speedster who lost his powers when he got transported to Earth. But Jay left the Labs previously, as he was not amenable to the fact that they would be using a serum for Barry. He agreed to help Wells, though, as long as he promised that he would not use Velocity 6 on The Flash.

Sears said that the incident would not make the two characters the best of friends, but it would be the start of a temporary ceasefire between them. Jay was still suspicious of Wells, as he witnessed the bloodbath he caused on Earth-2 with the particle accelerator explosion.

"There is a growing understanding, respect. There is a nice — I don't want to call it a shift, but these two will begin to work side-by-side, as members of Team STAR Labs, going forward and fighting meta-humans. They're not going to be buddies or great friends, but something does happen for the good after that," the actor said.

Meanwhile, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg hinted that Wells would break his promise with Jay and give Barry the serum. He said that fans of the comic would know that a big part of the story was about Velocity 9. As viewers have already seen Velocity 6 at work, it is safe to say that the formula has undergone several changes to be perfect.

"How it plays out and how it works and who uses it and the effects that that have — that's something that you'll have to watch," he teased.

"The Flash" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
