Iris West (Candice Patton) will start the New Year with a hot new romance in the upcoming episode of The CW series "The Flash."
It looks like the reporter will finally move on from Eddie (Rick Cosnett) this time around. TV Line reports that The CW is currently searching for her new love interest named Scott. For the part, the website is reportedly looking for a 20-something handsome guy with an African-American descent. Scott will be Iris' new boss at CCPN and while the two will not exactly hit it off at first bat, they will eventually play sweet music together. Scott will supposedly piss off Iris when he rejects her piece about the latest attacks in Central City.
Meanwhile, Iris' future husband Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) will regret not telling girlfriend Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) that he is The Flash in the next episode of the DC series. The promo shows that Zoom (Tony Todd) is planning his biggest attack yet. He will be kidnapping Patty and use her to flush out Barry. In the clip, Zoom is trying to restrain a terrified Patty. It cut to another scene of Iris cautioning Barry to tell his girlfriend about his secret identity. On the other hand, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is telling Barry if Zoom learns about the people he cares for, the villain will take them away from him.
Speaking of Wells, the winter finale ended with him agreeing to help Zoom in stealing The Flash's speed in exchange of his daughter Jesse's (Violett Beane) safety. It appears that Zoom has no intention of killing the speedster just yet, as he wants Wells so finish the serum to build him up first. Once the serum succeeds in doing what it has been designed to do, only then will Zoom finish Barry and absorb all the power inside him.
"The Flash" will return on Jan. 19, 2016 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
