Sheldon (Jim Parsons) will learn a lesson the hard way in the upcoming episode of the hit CBS series "The Big Bang Theory."

In "The Empathy Optimization," the Hollywood Hills reports that Penny (Kaley Cuoco), Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Bernadette (Melissa Rauch), Howard (Simon Helberg), Raj (Kunal Nayyar), and Emily (Laura Spencer) will plan to have a Sheldon-free trip to Las Vegas to get away from the physicist's bad vibes. Apparently, Sheldon will irk his friends one too many and it will result to him being left out on a fun-filled week on the party bus.

It looks like Amy (Mayim Bialik) is still at her conference and Sheldon has no one to back him up on this one. His arrogance can really be a little too much to take in. As his friends are around him all the time, viewers can just imagine how fed up they are of dealing with his bad attitude. Even Leonard has had enough of his antics, as he agrees with the rest that it is time Sheldon learns a valuable lesson about apologies.

As he does not want to spend the week all alone, Sheldon will reportedly realize he needs to lie low and prove to his friends that he does not deserve to be left out of what promised to be an enjoyable road trip. To get their approval, he will have to say sorry to each one of them, hoping that they will take pity on a comrade suffering from a bad cold. Will he manage to convince them?

Last episode, it became apparent that Penny has had enough of living with the "man-child." She told her new therapist, Dr. Gallow (guest star Jane Kaczmarek), that having Sheldon under the same roof was too stressful, as she has to deal with all his craziness. Penny also admitted that she blames Sheldon for most of her problems with her husband Leonard.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
