Noah (Dominic West) and Alison's (Ruth Wilson) relationship will take a hit in the upcoming episode of "The Affair."
According to the synopsis released by Showtime, their illicit relationship will start shifting, most likely for the worse, after everything that happened.
Last episode, Alison finally learned that Noah's new book "Descent" was about their affair and sexual exploits. It all started when Robert (Peter Friedman) told Alison that Yvonne (Joanna Gleason) has fired her. Earlier that day, Yvonne was engrossed in reading Noah's manuscript and seemed agitated.
Robert told her that his wife could relate to the story, as they both cheated on their spouses with each other. Alison shared that was the case as well with Noah and her. Little did she know that what Yvonne was reading was about her and her lover. When Alison decided to confront her, she saw the manuscript lying on the table and decided to take a look. That was when she realized the truth.
Alison was so upset that she decided to go to the city and see Noah. She went to Helen's (Maura Tierney) house first, but Noah's estranged wife said her husband was not there. Alison tried to apologize for the affair but Helen shut her down. Helen also told her that Noah was not the man she thought he was. Thoroughly upset, Alison took the train to Montauk.
When Cole (Joshua Jackson) went home that night, he found Alison asleep in their bed. Worried that Noah hurt her, he decided to let her stay. Alison told him her fear that men only think of her as a sexual object, and perhaps Noah also does. Cole tried to assure her that it was not the case, but she was inconsolable. She would not let him go and they ended up sleeping with each other.
Meanwhile, also in episode 6, Helen will finally decide on something she should have done months ago. Her divorce with Noah is still being heard in court. Will she decide to take one step further and charge her husband and Alison with infidelity?
"The Affair" airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on Showtime.
