The Tesla Model X SUV can now be ordered in Australia.

According to Gas 2, the orders placed for the new electric vehicle from Tesla, which is described by the company to boast all-wheel drive standard and two independent digitally controlled electric motors, will be catered to next year, with the vehicle expected to be released in the latter part of 2016.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed more details on the specs of the new Tesla Model X SUV during his company's annual meeting in June.

"We want to make sure, obviously, that some of the key features of the Model X, particularly the falcon-wing door, and the way that the second row seats are done, and a few other things that people aren't aware of, are done just right," Renew Economy quotes the product architect as saying. "Getting those final nuances right for the Model X is what we're focused on right now."

Although there's no concrete detail on its pricing, Renew Economy claims that it will have the same price tag as that of the BMW X5, which right now costs $A84,200.

Meanwhile, in other related news, Tesla-focused tuning company Unplugged Performance recently announced its car program for the Tesla Model X SUV. The Model S complete car program that came before it earned rave reviews and Unplugged Performance is back and it's upping its game.

According to Market Watch, the company is sticking with its winning formula in upgrading the new SUV while making sure the enhancements on its appearance will be distinctive of its predecessor while keeping the sporty theme.

For the definitive driving experience, Unplugged Performance is giving the Tesla Model X SUV adjusted suspension settings, "sportier" braking, improved interior materials, headlight and wheels performance as well as exotic materials for weight reduction. Customizing the vehicle allows the car owners' personalities to shine.

Unplugged Performance will not be doing any modifications on Tesla's electronics, batteries as well as the drivetrain and the warranty of important modules of the vehicle.
