"We're basing this mystery in something very personal actually, something that hits at the heart of all our main characters, Scott, Stiles and Lydia, and Derek, especially. This is going to be a big season for Derek. I think people are going to be surprised," Davis said.

Part of the new things to watch out for next season is the new villain called The Benefactor. The new antagonist was hinted in a batch of leaked production sketches emerged online. Moreover, actress Meagan Tandy retweeted the image that sparked the rumors that Braeden was the woman in the sketches. However, Tandy denied the speculations.

Meanwhile, "Teen Wolf" season 4 will have 12 episodes, which is half of last season's episodes. Davis said that he needed a break and fewer episodes will allow the actors of the series to explore other opportunities.
