'Supergirl' episode 10 spoilers: DEO learns Max's evil plans

Will Kara be facing an evil version of herself in "Supergirl"? Facebook/CBS

The Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO) is very curious about what Maxwell Lord (Peter Facinelli) is hiding in his swanky laboratory in the upcoming episode of "Supergirl."

In "Childish Things," TV Guide reports that Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) will ask Hank Henshaw (David Harewood) to use his alien power and reveal what Max is up to. Last midseason finale, viewers saw that he was creating what looks like a Bizarro of Supergirl. For fans of the DC comics, the term Bizarro was first used in the Superman series, where the Man of Steel battled a mirror image of himself.

If Max is indeed creating an evil version of Supergirl, the people at DEO have their work cut out for them, as their champion will be facing a villain unlike no other. What is more intriguing is why Max is tinkering with such a dangerous experiment. Does he have some lordly vision of being the master of a powerful weapon?

Also in episode 9, Hank's true identity was revealed to Kara (Melissa Benoist). He was actually the Martian Manhunter, the green-skinned extraterrestrial humanoid from the red planet. It will be interesting to see how he will use his powers to help Supergirl defeat the other prisoners of Fort Rozz and other villains who are bound to target the National City.

It also remains to be seen if Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) was sold with the ploy to convince her that Kara was really not the girl in the red cape. The CEO of CatCo is one tough woman and it will be difficult to fool her. Although she looked swayed enough that her suspicions regarding her assistant was wrong, viewers never can tell what is going on in her devious mind. Should Kara be worried about her boss?

"Supergirl" will return on Monday, Jan. 18, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
