The Denver Broncos pulled a fast one yet again and fans were able to witness it from anywhere.
Super Bowl 50 was a widely expected spectacle where the classic battle between the Broncos and the favored Carolina Panthers goes down as one of the classics.
The event was broadcast over CBSSport.com, but folks were also able to follow the game using the CBS Sports app for iOS, Android and Windows Mobile.
With those options, many were able to witness not only the game but the famed halftime show where movies, celebrities, and new ads took center stage. Headlining the performances were, of course, Coldplay, Beyonce, and Bruno Mars.
But all that aside, Super Bowl 50 was the one that everyone wanted to see. And while it was supposed to be about the Panthers' Cam Newton and the veteran Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, it was Von Miller who showcased the defensive prowess of the Broncos en route to that 24–10 over at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
In what was seen as perhaps the only chance the Broncos could waylay the chances of the streaking Panthers, Miller led the swarming defense of the Broncos to frustrate Newton and his teammates.
Miller placed the recently named National Football League (NFL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) in check, shackling him, including stripping him twice that pretty much told the story of the match.
It was another magnificent display of defense, similar to what the Broncos did on the New England Patriots during their NFC championship showdown. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was witness to that and the Panthers would have been wise to see how that went down.
Instead, Newton struggled and got sacked six times.
Carolina's vaunted offensive game led the league with 500 points but all that was thrown out the window at Super Bowl 50. The Panthers were held to their fewest points of the year while Denver set a mark with 194 yards gained, the fewest for a Super Bowl winner.
