'Suits' season 6 spoilers, release date: next season sees Mike in prison but no time jump

Fans are anticipating the premiere of season 6 of "Suits," which will air on USA Network on July 13 ET/PT.

In the last season of this show, Mike Ross (played by Patrick J. Adams), pleaded guilty in order to protect his colleagues at the Pearson Specter Litt law firm. This decision was made despite Harvey Specter's advice, since the latter still believed that the former can still get away from the case without a sentence.

According to Parent Herald, the sixth season of "Suits" will pick up where the last season left off. The rumored time jump will not happen and the fans will watch Mike's prison life for a while. After all, in the same article, it is said that a short teaser clip featured Mike reminiscing the voices of his friends and colleagues, telling him not to take the prison sentence while a guard was shaving his head. This clip ends with the judge giving a "not guilty" verdict, with Mike's silhouette walking down the prison aisle and into his prison cell.

As such, Mike regrets turning himself in since the two-year sentence he'll serve isn't necessary after all. If only he had waited for the verdict, he would have been free instead of suffering a possibly difficult life in prison.

With the arrival of the sixth season of "Suits," a lot of fans are concerned that this might be the last season for this show. However, showrunner Aaron Korsh has reassured fans on Twitter about the show's fate. When a fan asked about whether or not season 6 was the final installment for the show, he replied:

"Highly doubtful it is the last season but nothing official currently."

While that doesn't give much assurance of a season 7, it's still too early to assume that "Suits" season 6 is the last one.
