'Suicide Squad' movie update: Ben Affleck seen on film's Toronto set

Is Ben Affleck donning the Caped Crusader's suit again for "Suicide Squad" after his stint at the "Batman v Superman" movie?

Affleck was spotted by the paparazzi at the Toronto airport, which sparked rumors that the actor was in the city where the upcoming film is currently being shot.

While the airport photo could mean anything, another set of photos taken directly from the set of David Ayer's Suicide Squad seems to solidify the rumor that the award-winning actor is indeed joining the star-studded cast of the upcoming third installment from the DC Comics shared universe film.

But Affleck was seen wearing the usual garb of Batman's alter-ego Bruce Wayne and not the Batsuit, which is why it is still unclear whether the actor will be featured in the film as Gotham's billionaire-philanthropist or the city's crime-fighting creature.

Earlier rumors claim that Affleck will have a cameo in the film, and his character will have a relationship with Viola Davis' Amanda Waller. But Affleck's camp or the representatives from Warner Bros. and DC Comics are still mum about these reports.

Meanwhile, MTV reported another casting addition for Suicide Squad. This time, "Twilight" star Alex Meraz was reported to join the cast in the highly anticipated film.

Meraz is known for his portrayal as the warewolf Paul Lehote in the Twilight saga. He also appeared in Jamie Dornan's "New Worlds" miniseries. However, there are no details yet regarding the role that Meraz is about to play in the film.

The stellar cast of Suicide Squad includes Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as the Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as the Killer Croc, Karen Fukuhara as Plastique, as well as Common in a still undisclosed role.

Suicide Squad is slated to be released on August 5, 2016.
