Fans are excited to know the start of Steam's summer sale this year. The curiosity of many fans were piqued when a Reddit user, MrFreemanBBQ, revealed that the most anticipated sale will start on June 23. This Reddit user posted a screenshot in Russian, which he claims to be from Valve. It shows that the period for this year's sale will be from June 23 until July 4.

However, Valve has not made any official announcement about the sale yet; they haven't even hinted if it will even happen this year. But then again, in previous years, they never announced the sale either, so it could be possible that they're just keeping it a surprise. The leak also happens yearly and is made by the same Russian Reddit user.

According to Polygon, this person was responsible for telling people that the Steam sale was coming up last year. The leak later appeared on Russian social network VK.

After that, fans were astounded by the accuracy of the leak, since the dates were spot-on.

This user isn't the only culprit behind Steam sale leaks. According to VG 24/7, PayPal also leaked last year's winter sale, as well as a couple of sales back in 2014. The leak was from a promotional image PayPal shared, which featured the start of the winter sale ahead of Valve's official announcement.

Steam's seasonal sales have always been a source of delight for players, since Valve has been known to surprise players during these periods. One fine example of this is when they offered a playable clicker game which offered discounts to everyone. This same game granted Steam trading cards as well. Fans hope that this year's sales will feature something similar.
