Soul Survivor on the move, last year for sister festival Momentum

Soul Survivor, which has been held in Somerset since 1993, is moving part of its gathering from the county to the Peterborough Arena from next year.

Weeks B and C of its summer programme will no longer be at the Bath and West Showground from 2017.

They will instead be held at the East of England Showground's Peterborough Arena from 2017.

The Stafford Showground will continue to stage Soul Survivor Week A.

Soul Survivor Scotland will still take place at the Scripture Union venue, Lendrick Muir, in Kinross.

"We have had many wonderful summers in Somerset but we're thrilled to be starting a new chapter at the East of England Showground," said Soul Survivor founder Mike Pilavachi.

"It has some fantastic purpose built venues including the Peterborough Arena which can comfortably accommodate thousands of people."

The Peterborough Arena hosts a range of indoor and outdoor events including live music and comedy.

Pilavachi added: "With its more central location and excellent public transport links, we hope it will be easily accessible for all those who have previously been to Soul Survivor in Somerset, as well as being in easy reach for new friends to join us."

Soul Survivor expanded from Somerset in 2007 to add a week in Cheshire. Soul Survivor Scotland was launched in 2014 at the Thainstone Centre near Aberdeen before moving to Kinross in 2015.

Meanwhile, Soul Survivor's sister festival, Momentum, for people in their 20s and 30s, will be hosting its last summer gathering this year, starting on Friday in Stafford.

Instead, delegates are encouraged to attend a new six-day summer conference launching next year called Naturally Supernatural at the Stafford showground in addition to its February conference with the same theme.

Pilavachi said: "Over the last few years we have had an increasing passion to encourage the church to move in the ministry of the Holy Spirit and we believe it is time to hold an event for the whole church to explore and make space for God's Spirit. We want to model ministry that is thoroughly Biblical, open to all, powerful and effective, but not manipulative or hyped."
