Three Sony Xperia Z5 handsets debuted recently with the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, and the Xperia Z5 premium. As it is, the three variants should offer customers something to think about.
But it seems that the Xperia Z5 family would be adding new members come 2016 if rumors are true.
On one end is the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Premium, which will reportedly make its debut in Japan. But come 2016, another member could follow as well with the Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra.
Could there be more? Well, until that is answered, you could count on five different variants of the Sony Xperia Z5 in circulation once 2016 comes around.
What makes the Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra special? Word has it that it is simply a souped up version of the Xperia Z5 Premium.
That includes a 6.44-inch 4K (2160 x 3840 pixels) display while drawing power from an unconfirmed Snapdragon 820 processor, which may be backed by 4 GB of RAM.
Per rumors, other specs to watch out for the said device would include a whopping 23-megapixel main camera and a large 4,000 mAh battery to render the needed power from the large display and high resolution camera.
Now, before you go out and eagerly await it, remember that all these are rumors for now. The word out is that this device is still in development; hence, until Sony actually hints at the possible coming of this Sony phablet, expectations for such should not be that high.
Word has it that the device should come out in March 2016, which is about six months away. But again, Sony has not made any confirmation or even a simple comment confirming that this device actually exists or will be put out in the open.
If it does get confirmed, it does sound like a pretty neat phablet to consider, although other specs like storage, front-facing camera, and maybe other common features such as fingerprint sensor or even a Stylus could make it all the more alluring.
Once all those are added in, then maybe that's when the device becomes something worth waiting for.
